3.9. The back-and-forth of Ajax development

In Chapters 1 and 2, you were able to start working on an application and develop it piece by piece until you were done. In this chapter, we're going to have to go back and forth a bit between the three parts of the coffee maker app. This is called iterative development, because you keep working on the same pieces over and over.

You'll see this graphic at the top of most of the pages in this chapter. It will remind you which part of the coffee maker app we're working on.

The part of the app we're focusing on will be pulled out, and the arrow will point to that part, too.

Most applications are developed iteratively: you keep coming back to things you've already worked on, and adding to and improving them.

Even when we start working on the JavaScript or PHP, we'll still have to come back to the HTML to make improvements or changes.
