And now, for something completely different! If you don’t have the computing power or the time to try a brute force attack — that is, trying every possible combination of keys there could possibly be — you can always revert to the rubber hose attack.
This is quite easy, but I strongly recommend against it because it entails using a length of rubber hose to beat the passphrase out of your target. Physical violence is not considered a hacker’s tool. I doubt that many cryptographers or cryptanalysts use this methods, but I wouldn’t put it past the CIA!
