The Center for Democracy and Technology

The Center for Democracy and Technology is a non-profit organization which lobbies the government on cryptography issues — in particular, the right for citizens to use strong encryption to protect their work and/or their networks. It’s interesting reading as the government regards strong encryption as a “munition” and controls the export of strong encryption. If you do business with companies or individuals overseas, you may want to have a look at this site to see if any of the government’s restrictions apply to you.
