Conclusion

We have constructed a solid framework on which to develop the client side of a database-driven Flash application. A trivia quiz gives us a chance to explore many issues of data organization and communication without becoming distracted by seductive animation scenarios. Graphic animation issues have a much greater learning curve and a more tenuous relevance to the multitiered issues we care about.

In these three chapters, we have learned most of the ActionScript concepts we need to create highly functional demonstrations of the material in the rest of the book. Already we have an application that runs briskly, but it cries out almost audibly for an external source of fresh data. That source will be XML.

So we turn our attention away from Flash and begin to unravel XML.
