What You Have Learned

In this lesson you have:

  • Learned that when you work with event handlers of class properties you frequently run into issues of incorrect scope (pages 269270)

  • Discovered that you can correct scope issues with the Delegate.create() method (pages 270273)

  • Learned that good encapsulation means that classes are self-contained and don't reference global objects such as _root and _global (page 274)

  • Used composition to define a "has a" relationship between classes (pages 274276)

  • Enabled classes that act like movie clips but for which you don't have to have symbols (pages 276281)

  • Used event dispatching to design flexible applications (pages 281287)
